COMTek IS SOLE NON-FORTUNE 500 FIRM IN DC AREA
NAMED TO “TOP MILITARY FRIENDLY EMPLOYER” HONOR ROLL

Chantilly Firm Lauded As Top 25 Employer in U.S. For Vets and Active Duty Army Reserves, National Guard; Over 100 COMTek Employees Are Deployed on Active Duty At Any Given Time.

CHANTILLY, VA. - November 10, 2005 - Communication Technologies, Inc. (COMTek), a national leader in telecommunications, broadband, IT-managed services and training for both the federal government and the private sector, is the only non-Fortune 500 company in the Washington, DC area to be named to the nationwide "Top 25 Military Friendly Employers" list of G.I. Jobs magazine for 2005.  COMTek is one of only four companies in all of the U.S. outside of the ranks of the Fortune 500 to be so honored.  As part of its extensive work for the federal government, COMTek employs and trains former active duty and reserve military personnel.

COMTek President and CEO Joseph Fergus stated: "As a vet, I make it a top priority for COMTek to hire people who have served in the military.  We’ve had an outstanding track record of hiring successful former and active duty military hires who are both highly skilled in their positions and have proven integrity.  From the very earliest days at COMTek, we decided to approach our business model from the viewpoint of understanding the military side of things.  We are deeply honored to be singled out for such an exclusive recognition for what is, in the final analysis, a way of doing business that is good for both COMTek and for this country.”

Rich McCormack, publisher of G.I. Jobs magazine, stated: “Nearly all big companies now have a military recruiting program in place. What used to be a relatively secret source for finding top-notch employees is now widely known.  As a fast-rising enterprise, COMTek has been recruiting military veterans for years and that is part of what makes it such a successful company.  Dr. Fergus understands that the skill and discipline former military hires bring to a company provide a tremendous bonus to an employer. COMTek has been able to use that to their advantage as a growing tech and telecommunications company.”

COMTek joins a prestigious list of companies that are ranked by G.I. Jobs magazine as being military friendly, including three Fortune 500 companies in the DC area:  Lockheed Martin (Bethesda, MD); Sprint Nextel Corp. (Reston, VA); and Capital One (McLean, VA).  The three non-Fortune 500 companies other than COMTek featured by G.I. Jobs magazine on its 2005 list are Lear Siegler Services, Inc (Austin, TX), Pioneer Services (Kansas City, MO), and Cornell University (Ithaca, NY).

Of the more than 500 employees at COMTek working on federal government programs, more than 100 are currently deployed on active duty.  COMTek has had a total of more than 234 Army Reservists and National Guard members activated since September 11, 2001, some serving two tours.

In July 2005, COMTek signed the National Committee for Employer Support of the Guard and Reserve (ESGR) "5-Star Statement of Support" affirming the company’s commitment to: support for their employees who serve in the National Guard and Reserve; promotes training for managers and supervisors to effectively manage its employees who serve in the National Guard and Reserve; reviewed its Human Resources policies to ensure compliance with the Uniformed Services Employment and Re-Employment Rights Act Law (USERRA); and is an advocate for employee service in the National Guard and Reserve and will help to promote the mission of ESGR.  Separately, the North Carolina Committee for ESGR recognized COMTek at that time with an "Above and Beyond" employer award for its extraordinary support of the family of a U.S. Army ROTC instructor who was deployed to Iraq.

G.I. Jobs, a magazine that assists military members and veterans in their transition to civilian employment, based the military friendly employer list on surveys, employee interviews and research of Fortune 500 companies.  Criteria included the strength of company military recruiting efforts, the percentage of new hires with prior of military service, and company policies toward National Guard and Reserve service.
