CHANTILLY, VA. – October 31, 2005 – Communication Technologies, Inc. (COMTek), a premier provider of information technology (IT) services to the federal government and private companies, announced today that it has been awarded a new multi-year contract by the Department of the Army valued at $5.7 million for the continuation of its work with U.S. Military Postal Services Agency (MPSA). The Agency is the designated single service manager of all U.S. military mail operations.
COMTek was chosen in order to extend the company’s ongoing work on the design, development, integration, and fielding of MPSA’s 21st Century “Automated Military Postal System” information technology platform. The platform is a Web-enabled information system infrastructure utilizing Oracle 9i and incorporating both legacy and new technology. The integrated platform is used by MPSA for their finance, transportation, and administrative overseas functions.

On April 27, 2005, COMTek announced that it was selected by the United States Department of Agriculture to carry out a $9 million contract to provide service on 2,441 AS400 servers and 7,396 IBM printers at more than 2,400 USDA sites nationwide. These parallel undertakings allow COMTek to leverage an existing and growing maintenance infrastructure in order to offer government agencies an experienced staff at the best price possible.
